Go to the National Apartment Association website www.naa.org and visit the online bookstore for a great assortment of books that should be on your fair housing bookshelf. The site About.com bills itself as the "Human Internet". Go to www.about.com and enter the words "fair housing" in the box marked "Find It Now" - when I did that this morning, it returned 292 articles & web pages! The Department of Housing and Urban Development has several pages of interest to property managers: http://www.hud.gov/fhe/fheo.html is the home page for fair housing information for the public. http://www.hud.gov/multfam1.html is the home page for the multifamily industry. Visit Sales & Marketing Magic Online: http://www.smmonline.com, and click the "Focus on Fair Housing" link for a library of fair housing articles by Nadeen Green, Senior Counsel of For Rent Magazine. The Fair Housing Institute at http://www.mindspring.com/%7Efairhous/index.html was created by two attorneys, Kathelene Coughlin and Theresa L. Kitay whose mission is "to educate and advise the housing industry about the economic and social benefits of fair housing and equal opportunity." Kathelene and Theresa also co-produced the NAA fair housing video, "Testers Welcome", which is available at the NAA online bookstore. The National Fair Housing Advocate at http://www.fairhousing.com/ has a wealth of information about fair housing issues for managers and owners.
